Research Foundations introduces learners to the practices that make academic inquiry possible: finding credible scholarship, reading critically, connecting ideas, developing a research question, and communicating clearly.
It is designed for people beginning formal research or rebuilding the foundations for a new field.
One introductory format combines four live classes with approximately 10 hours of structured independent practice. Longer or school-integrated versions can revisit these skills with additional examples and feedback.
A search log, annotated reading record, literature matrix, and a short research concept note.
The purpose is to develop a research process learners can continue using, not to imply that a short introductory course produces a complete publishable study.
Learners can move into a focused methods program or a mentored project when they have an appropriate foundation. Experienced learners may enter later stages directly.
