Research education designed with your institution

ConnectEd works with schools and educational organizations to build structured research learning around their students, curricular goals, and available time. Collaboration may involve a course, a workshop sequence, a methods module, mentored projects, or a longer school-based research pathway.

A flexible curriculum model

Readiness

Understand learners’ prior experience, academic communication skills, interests, and technical preparation.

Foundations

Build scholarly reading, writing, literature search, research communication, and responsible AI practice.

Methods and exploration

Develop a methods option such as social research, Python, or R, alongside discipline-specific preparation.

Capstone

Complete a substantive research project or an innovation-and-impact project with appropriate evidence and evaluation.

Optional extension

Explore a separately arranged advanced research experience when appropriate to readiness and opportunity.

Research and Innovation Pathways

A research capstone investigates a focused question using appropriate evidence. An innovation-and-impact capstone begins with a practical or community problem and develops an evidence-informed response, prototype, or evaluation.

Both pathways require clear reasoning, documentation, and reflection.

AP Capstone-Related Enrichment

For students participating in a school’s AP Capstone pathway, ConnectEd can support general research-skills development and appropriately bounded subject-matter guidance in coordination with the school.

The school retains responsibility for its AP courses, assessment processes, and applicable College Board requirements.
